the usage of torrents and bandwidth health

Does any one know if that, AFTER the abusive usage o torrents the Internet speed gets slower.
I know that its normal, nowadays, that ISP's throttle or even choke your bandwidth when using P2P protocols, but could it be that even afterwards, you're internet connection will remain slow?

Check the usage rules of your ISP.

Also check your system to see if something "nasty" is not happening and using your system covertly.
