Hello everbody!

To get it out of the way:
running Ubuntu LTS Desktop 10.04 with proprietary nvidia driver and x86 architecture (though processors support 64-bit). Besides a few superficial apps, still rather fresh-out-of-the-box

I'm a fairly new linux pilgrim, and like any good n00b one of the first programs I set up was compiz fusion. Particularly, I used the ubuntu repo to install CopizConfig Settings Manager, Compiz Fusion, and CompizFusion Icon.

My issue is: many times when I pop open the compiz config settings and want to change a key bindings, the changes do not apply. If I close the window and open it again, all of the old key bindings are back. For awhile I just let it lie, but recently I have been experimenting with blender, and many of the hotkeys conflict with compiz bindings, leading me to perform window functions when I want to be editing a mesh. Something is seriously screwy, and I'm sure it's some stupid mistake I've made.

Any advice? I searched the forums with little success.
