View Full Version : HP Mini compiz wont work?

Hey everyone, i have had ubuntu in the past and I loved it. I just recently got a HP Mini 110-1118 and I thought the netbook remix would be perfect.

I had a few issues with the install (Blank screen with blinking cursor) but I did manage to fix everything.

The only problem is that I can't enable compiz. When I try to change the graphics to "extra" in the appearance section all the options are greyed out. I have tried installing the advanced compiz settings manager and still no luck.

Is there any fix?

edit: Im running a intel atom 1.6 processor and 2 GB of ram... not to sure of graphics card or anything, but it should be the most recent version of the HP Mini 110 as I ordered it directly from HP as a clearance item.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you need a decent graphics card and the right driver to run compiz. Certainly, on my nvidia machines, if I've not had the right graphics driver installed, the advanced options are greyed out.
