Hi!

Can anyone suggest a desktop replacement laptop that I can buy in the UK and load Xubuntu 10.04 onto without problems?

I've had it with my 9 year old P4 3GHz - I just want an easy life - so anything that runs quietish and has similar or better performance would be great.

I'll see what suggestions I get before I admit to being penniless :-)

Cheers

If your 'desktop replacement' laptop is going to just sit on a desk, why not get a new desktop? You get far more bang for your buck (or pound in this case LOL)

Fair point! But there are benefits for it to be a laptop - I get to take it with me more easily when working away from home etc.

With all my recent pain trying to get my desktop working with 10.04 I realised that being easily able to pick it up and take it to work would have made it all a lot easier to fix.

In the end I upgraded my desktop pc with new mobo, memory and, painfully, new power supply!
