This is a great site, as a noob, I have found that if you take the time to read the posts every day, in my case 'Absolute Beginner Talk' your knowledge base will grow much faster than sitting down with a 4" thick book.

Being new, and wanting to learn everything quickly, is not only impossible, but very frustrating.

There is rarely a problem that hasn't been here before you, and nothing is learned through a 'reload from backup.'

Dont't forget to give back to! Even noobs have somthing to contribute . . . .

Do as I say . . . not as I do ; D

Things have been sucky for awhile, been out of work for over a year. But these to shall pass, been here once before.

Being out of work is the best therapist there is. You're faced with your problems head on, and forced to make positive changes in yor life.

I have to agree that I have learned more here than from 6 4-inch books and 9 2-inch ones.
Welcome, enjoy, and learn. :D

Some are Ubuntu-specific, others are LInux in general (dealing with CLI {Command Line Interface} )

It was expensive but I used it to get a good foot in the door
