Update manager segfaults when trying to upgrade to Lucid

I'm trying to upgrade Karmic to Lucid. I open the update manager, click the "upgrade" button, and then again the "upgrade" button in the window that pops up. Then it just closes down. When running the update manager from a terminal, the only output is "Segmentaion fault".

What's up with this? How do I solve it? If that's not possible, how else do I upgrade?

Don't know what's up with your update manager, I NEVER use that thing.
Most would suggest back up then fresh install.
I always edit the sources list, Karmic to Lucid and proceed using the terminal.
