View Full Version : [all variants] Prevent LXDE from starting at boot (SERVER)

I have Ubuntu Server Edition on Lucid Lynx, and I needed a GUI to do a few tweaks, so I installed LXDE, a lightweight desktop. I really like it as it's really pleasing to look at, and really pleasing to the memory consumption too. I don't use it much unless I need a GUI tool, but then I normally log out back to the console and just let it hang out as a server.
But after you use startx, and then go the reboot button, it automatically kicks into X when you start the server. I don't want it to do that. I want to have to type startx to get the thing to run.
I don't use xdm or gdm or kdm as far as I am aware of (the login manager). I'm not that superb with linux yet, but how can I accomplish this?
Thanks,
