Hi, I am new to Ubuntu and have installed latest desktop 32 bit version on my Compaq SR5228UK desktop PC.
I am having problems with the screen freezing shortly after logging in and I think it is something to do with graphics drivers.
If I go into Preferences / Appearance and select no effects it works fine and them problem seems to be solved.
Is there an updated driver or anything I can install that will allow me to turn on the graphics effects, without the computer freezing all the time.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
Allan
