The point of this is that you can now get Linux preinstalled on Dell laptops again in Canada. That's a huge plus for people like me. I'd rather buy Macs, but I hate Apple's EULA and they are expensive. And I do not want to pay "Windows Tax" because I have no use for Windows.

Dell has some pretty good hardware. I'd say the best in the PC world.

Compaq is now just so-so after the merger. Compaq used to be a Premium Quality name.

How many Linux systems are HP/Compaq and Acer selling? Those are the two largest computer makers today. Apple isn't selling Linux systems either.

I wonder how much less money it would be?
