View Full Version : [gnome] "Key is not writable" in gonf-editor, can't edit layouts

Hi. A problem is: I cannot add new or remove existing keyboard layout. When I try to do this via GUI, using System - Preferences - Keyboard, nothing happens. I tried to use gconf-editor, but the key desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/layouts is not writable. A couple weeks ago it was fully writable, and now it is not. And I didn't do anything actually. Deleting config files doesn't work too. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04.

I had the same problem on 9.10, and it appeared right after I got rid of USA2 layout. On 10.04 I also had problems with layouts, but nothing really special, and gconf-editor worked fine after that.

Any idea?
