I was using v 8.10, but since it wasn't being supported anymore, I decided to upgrade. I also decided to upgrade to v 10.04, so that I wouldn't have to think about upgrading again for 3 years.
I did the 9.04 and 9.10 upgrades, both over the network, but am a bit worried about doing the same re the 10.04 upgrade, because of what I read about the filesystem change from ext3 to ext4.
If I do an upgrade to 10.04 over the network, will my filesystem automatically be converted or will I be asked during the process whether I want it converted? Is there some risk of data loss on the conversion? If I have the option, should I stick with ext3, just to be safe?
