I downloaded Peppermint and the md5sum checked out so I burned a disc. When I try to use that disc to start up on my computer it doesn't start. What I get is a screen saying it will start booting in a countdown or if I hit enter I get a boot menu. If I let it boot from the countdown are pick "run from disc" in the boot menu my monitor shuts down and the disc drive light just blinks off and on with the drive whirring away. I have let this run for a while and nothing else happens.

I just tried booting this on an old HP computer and it booted right up from the disc.

I have a dual boot Compaq desktop with two drives - XP on one and Ubuntu 10.04 on the other. I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it since I am trying to boot from the disc.

I would like to find out why it is doing this.

Thanks.
