To teach them about computers, and sharing, and being creative. I mean we have characters in the world of linux and the free open source community to pull it off. Hell I'll name a few off the top of my head


Mozi the firefox who loves to explore
Wilber the GIMPed dog with a creative side
Vincent the Vuze frog who loves to share
Tux the uh...help me out here

I mean computers are a growing part of our lives why not explain to kids some concepts of computers and whatnot at a young age in a way that'll get them interested. I even have a plan for making an entirely kid friendly distro.

Sounds like a crippled dog to me, but I like the idea.
It's a heroic tragedy. He has a messed up paw, but it doesn't stop his painting and creativeness.
