Folks,
I tried to upgrade my 8.04 LTS to 10.04 LTS. The installation appeared to work ok. However, when it rebooted it appears to be the same old 8.04. The only thing that I can think of that may be causing the problem is, during the installation a dialog kept asking if I wanted the menu.lst file to remain as is or to change it to something else. Since I haven't a clue what this file is or what the other options were to change it I left it alone.
Has anyone any idea what I've done wrong and if so, how do I fix it.
I believe that if I try to upgrade it again all that will happen is that I'll get 2 installations (could be wrong though).
Any help will be gratefully appreciated. but if you can it would also be appreciated if you could spell it out in words of 1 sylable.
