Hey everybody, So I want to get a custom built desktop that uses the intel i3 or i5 chip.

What I really need is a set of motherboards that are pretty good and well liked and set of cool desktop cases that people think are pretty awsome (And if possible quiet!!!!!)

And if people have other suggestions for other parts such as a wireless card or a good solid graphics card.

Im building the desktop for a general purpose catch all desktop to do anything from gaming to hardcore linux development. And of course it has to be all linux compatible :p OOOhhh yeah and Ill be using this desktop for long term use so very sturdy hardware!!!

Im looking for around 200 bucks for the case and motherboard (Though the i3 or i5 chip may put it over but thats okay!!!!!)

I found one i3 mother board combo for $200.00 so far (no case) . If you have $500 there are i5 barebones kits available including Case PSU i5 CPU Memory Mother board 1tb HDD

Favorite motherboard OEM: Gigabyte (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000022&Description=gigabyte&name=AMD%20Motherboards).
Favorite case of all time and space: R910 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811200034&cm_re=R910-_-11-200-034-_-Product) (It's huge, it comes with well organized and color codes mounting screws - with extras!)

+1

I would just go to newegg and look around. Also, check the reviews and stay away from anything that does not get at least 75% good reviews. (4 or 5 eggs)

It really depends on how much you're willing to spend on the parts.
