Unknown erorr 0x80040154 when loading playonline

hi guys. I need alittle help i am running wine so i can use steam to play FFXI but when i go to load the game i get a "Unknown erorr 0x80040154" can someone help me out on fixing this. my xp pc die last night so it look like it ubuntu all the way now. here is what the erorr look like.

The app error isn't actually all that helpful, the terminal output from Wine would be much better. Run the game from the terminal to get that output and maybe we can see what is happening.

In the meantime, you might want to check out the AppDB page for FFXI (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=1992), it has a how to that might be helpful
