Hi,

I am looking to buy an ebook reader, so far my option is Kindle DX but I am looking to a better one, something linux/ Android based.

I am mostly looking to read technical ebooks (PDF format) with complex drawing and diagrams along with doc/ odt, ppt/ ods format.

Does kindle DX read normal size ebooks correctly or it need the PDF format to be resized?

Thanks.

It reads PDFs just fine, I'd go with the DX ;)

Haven't paid close attention to the Ebook reader scene in a while. I don't own a reader and am not planning on getting one, the DRM in them seem a little scary to me. I still remember various "kindle swindles" including the [http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2009/07/orwell-2009-dystopia]deletion of books without permission[/url], and removal of text2voice (http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2009/04/protest-kindle-drm) because of licensing issues. Maybe things have changed with the kindle the past year or so, course <sarcasm>maybe MS finally fixed windows by releasing it under the GPL as well.</sarcasm>

Kindle DX reads pdf's fine but does have some shortcomings you can't change font sizes and can't zoom that can be annoying. It should fit your needs though. Just by the way for technical ebooks there's lots of free stuff out there.source http://www.samsfreeebooks.com
