Upgraded to Lucid running in VMware player v3.1 on a Windows 7 host. Unfortunately, the keyboard doesn't appear to work anymore. The mouse works briefly and then disappears. If I ssh into the image, it responds correctly (the server isn't dead) but doesn't listen to the keyboard either.

I thought I fixed this problem. Since I couldn't type my password into the login screen, I used the onscreen keyboard to type in my password and login to my account. Then the keyboard and mouse would work and I could use everything. I reinstalled vmware-tools and I used it this way for a few hours.

I changed the login to automatically log me into my account and now it doesn't work anymore. I can use the mouse for a little while before it also become unresponsive. I then logged out of my account to get back to the login screen. Again, my keyboard doesn't work, so I pecked it out on the onscreen keyboard. Now it just freezes.

What could be causing Ubuntu to not listen to the keyboard and mouse anymore?

Thanks.
