Hi folks,
I am trying to install Lucid on my Alienware M17x laptop. I loaded the install to my thumb drive and boot to my thumb drive but after the initial option screen, I see nothing. If I choose to run Ubuntu from the thumb drive, the screen goes blank and after a few seconds I hear the sound, but no Ubuntu on my screen.

Am I missing some unspoken prep steps?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you disabled the integrated graphics card in BIOS first, my M17x will not do anything in linux unless it is using its main graphics card (in my case an nVidia).

Thanks Matt, That at least got me started. I can run from the thumb drive now :) I will actually try and install later and see how that goes.

Did you have any other hiccups during install that may help me get through it?

Thanks again.
