Hi,
I have install gnome via those commands:

Since then, Graphic mode start up every time i start my server.....
BUT
here is all the process activated at boot up, according to rcconf
apache2
apparmor
grub-common
icecast2
ondemand
openbsd-inetd
pppd-dns
proftpd
pulseaudio
rsync
unattended-upgrades
and in /etc/rc2.d/ it's the same except for S99rc.local
I don't know what to think, because i don't want gnome to start at startup, but he still do, and i don'T even know how...
My version of ubuntu is 10.04, and it's the server one
