Hi there,

I'm running a plain vanilla Lucid Lynx, and I love the new theme, but, there is something that it is troubling me for quite some time with Metacity: the round corners on the windows seem choppy, blocky, like something unfinished.

Is there anything I can do to make them smoother? More rounder? Do I have to replace some png or jpg files?
I know I can use Emerald, but I don't want to at the moment, I prefer the stock Metacity.

TIA

there is no way to get smooth corners in metacity because it does not support rgba (And I dont know WHY in gods name ubuntu's graphic designers and others keep friggin making rounded metacity themes while it doesnt support this...)

The one solution is to use emerald as your window decorator (sudo apt-get install emerald) and find an ambiance theme for it. (you can set emerald as your default window decorator by installing compizconfig settings manager > go to window decorator and in the command box type emerald --replace. Or you can just add emerald --replace as a startup item)

I personally use this one that goes well with ambiance:

Thanks.
I'd rather not use Emerald, don't know as of today, but there used to be a really annoying bug with the drop shadow effect (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=960273) (the only Desktop Effect I can live without).
I guess I'll have to sort of disguise the blocky corner using a somehow dark wallpaper.
