Compiz wont stick

I am able to install the compiz package and dependencies but after about 30 min the settings revert to as if compiz wasn't installed. I assume that my graphics card is supported because compiz wouldn't enable in the first place if it wasn't, right? What can I do to fix this.

Setting revert by themselves, with no logins or so? It means compiz crashes.
Don't play spy, what is you video card?
Does anything else crash frequently? May be memory/kernel problem.

Nothing else has crashed but I do have a generic onboard graphics card w/ a nvidia chipset. Could it be the onboard video instead of an agp or pci:guitar:
