Hi,
I've just installed a fresh copy of Lucid Lynx 32-bit version on my laptop. The distro works great and I am especially thrilled with the wireless improvements.
One of the only problems that I've run into so far has been that I've been unable to install Google Gears with Firefox. It downloads and tries to install the addon, but as soon as it tries, I get the error message:
"Google Gears could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Firefox build type (Linux_x86-gcc3)....." (screenshot attached)
The last time I tried to install Gears onto this laptop it was running 9.04 and had this same problem. When I tried installing Gears onto my desktop machine, which was also running 9.04, but was a 64-bit OS, it had no problem and worked fine. Is this a problem with the architecture? i.e. Does Google Gears require a 64-bit OS? Could it be something else?
Thank you
