I cannot adjust the screen brightness in the power management menu. I can access the window and move the scroll bar, but there is no change.
I am on v 10.04 32bit , a Benq joybook s35.
It was working just fine on the previous version of ubuntu.

Mine adjusts between a darkest and brightest setting but that's it, two settings. Better than nothing I suppose. Acer Aspire One D250, on Netbook 10.04

I'm seeing something similar on my ThinkPad. From the power menu or keyboard shortcuts it changes the slider but not the screen brightness.
However if I close the top and put it to sleep then wake it up the brightness does change.
I'm off to Bugzilla now that I see I'm not alone.
