Hi,
I do not have that experience with troubleshooting in Linux, so please be patient...
OK, I got the folowing problem:
After updating my distribution, booting with Kernel 2.6.32-22 gives the splash-screen for about 2 seconds and then the system crashes that hard, so that I have to switch it off. Using Kernel 2.6.31-21, everything works fine. So where should I start?

Hi,
I'm still running on 2.6.31-21, updating to Kernel 2.6.32-23 didn't help. Any other Suggestions?

Using the instructions shown here (http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2010/05/06/ubuntu-10-04-lucid-blank-screen-at-startup-workaround/comment-page-2/#comment-11799) the problem was solved!
