Screensaver goes to black screen

I am running Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 64 bit. Sometimes my screensaver will work, sometimes it simply goes to a black screen. My power management settings are set to Never turn off. The monitor and computer are both kept on full power. It seems as if the screensaver should be working, but there are no graphics. I am looking to solve this issue. For some reason, I seem to be the only person to be having this problem.

I am a Linux noob, and have been loving Ubuntu 10.04. I would love to solve this issue. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
