View Full Version : [ubuntu] Compiz stopped loading at startup

I restarted my PC today to find I no longer had a window manager. Running "compiz --replace" after login works fine. I Googled around a bit but the only "fix" I could find was to add "compiz --replace" to the startup applications in Gnome.

This does give me Compiz back after a restart, but I've not been able to find any information about how/where Compiz is normally supposed to load so that I can try to look into why it's suddenly stopped working.

The only significant things I can think of that have happened since my last restart a couple of days ago is the updating of CUPS and a system freeze while playing a game which required a reset of the PC (which was when I found the problem).

Any pointers as to how Compiz is supposed to get loaded would be appreciated. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit.

Thanks.
