View Full Version : [ubuntu] Secure Network Log-in problems

I am using 10.04 and have to connect to a "secure" network for my University. To do this, I had to download a net-cert.p12 and have that saved.

Unfortunately, the university does not offer support for connecting to this wireless network.

I found this really useful wiki (http://vtluug.org/wiki/VT-Wireless)

(I am using the portion concerning NetworkManager)

But at the last step, I cannot connect. I feel like I am missing one step to make the whole thing work. It tells me that my private key is not protected (or possibly encrypted) but that it is unsafe to use it like that on the internet. This means that it will not allow me to "connect" (The connect button is grayed out).

I saw that some have said that you can use openssl to encrypt certificates, but I do not know what this means. Could someone walk me through these steps and explain what they do?
