Ati 4850 driver installation pls help

hi guys,


after installing ubuntu and updating software a pop notification came up saying to use your full graphics power update to unrestricted driver or smth like that, can't remember egzactly..

did that and know i have sluggish graphics in general.

went to ati's website and downloaded the latest linux drivers for my card 4850 with a .run extension
ati-driver-installer-10-5-x86.x86_64.run , but it wont let me install them.

anyone here with the same card that can guide me through please

ps: i'm on ubuntu 10.04 x32 and trying to install drivers for x32 only.

Check out this post in the General Help sticky (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1469475#10). It describes the same problem you're experiencing and gives a solution.
