Simple question I've been mulling over: What's the best way to maintain a website user's privacy while maintaining quality user content (comments, etc)? Something like Gawker's auditioned commenter system? Requiring/Enabling Open IDs? Making your own custom account system that stores as little information as possible?

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in discussing this, though plenty of outrage at companies who eat your personal info for breakfast. Perhaps I should move this to another forum? Do we even have a web development forum?

You may be better off asking your question in the Security Disscussion (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=338) subforum. If you do, don't just copy and paste your question from the Cafe.
