I never used that mail thingy in the top right because even after the semi not so painful process of letting it retrieve my mail from yahoo it only downloaded my mail once. All this time I thought it was broken because I would hit the refresh button and nothing happened. Turns out I had to hit Send/Receive. Whoops.

Why is there a refresh button if it doesn't do anything???

What evolution? I don't know. It may have to do with local files or something. Evolution rocks. You should tick the "check for mail every x minutes" box.
