I run a mybb site that gets an incredible amount of spam. Does anyone else use mybb, and know of a spam blocker?

Require a CAPTCHA and email verification to register, and an account to post.

Download "reCAPTHCA 2" and also get the "STOPFORUMSPAM" plug-ins this will help in dealing with spam.

I've been using fassim anti spam for sometime now on all my forum and it works great.

We get the odd spam account where someone jumps through the hoops & registers. As soon as they are spotted their thread is removed & they are banned.

Our little forum doesn't have much trouble though really.

I don't use myBB, but found a couple of references to akismet (http://akismet.com/) on the myBB forum (http://community.mybb.com/)

edit Nov. 11, 2010: I now have a couple of small boards set up with MyBB. There is an Akismet plugin to help deal with spam (http://lisati.homelinux.com/PMC/showthread.php?tid=3&pid=3#pid3).
