Hi guys,
does anybody know how to make animated desk appear at start up :confused:

First, do you have have some sort of Animated script/program/whatever that will make an animated desktop?

If not, here is one that many folks seem to like:


I think that one will automatically start on startup, but if it doesn't, just add it to the startup applications:

To do so:

Go to System > Preferences > Startup Applications

in the startup tab, 'Add' it using the following parameters:

Name: (whatever you want)
Command: (depends on where the deb installs it's contents to)
Comment: (whatever you want)

ok, whats happened now is the selection screen of which animation you want to choose starts up, but not the actual animation

Hmmm, well I don't know. I've tried that very program I linked you too in the past and it worked just fine.

When I have the time I'll be happy to check it out myself again and see if I get the same problem as you.

Is there any thing for Linux like winamp's AVS. There was a cool feature that let you set the visualizer to overlay the desktop background. It's a great feature if you like to use transparent windows. THX
