setting MTA (sendmail) in ubuntu

i want install MTA (sendmail) in ubuntu 9.10 ,, but i don't know setting and konfiguration.

Installing sendmail is simply a matter of opening a terminal window and typing:


sudo apt-get install sendmail

With regard to the configuration, it depends on exactly what you want to do. Reading the documentation at http://www.sendmail.org would help.

I've typed like that but the result root@syem:/home/syem# sudo apt-get install sendmail reading package list... done building dependency tree rading state information...done E: couldn't find package sendmail
