Hey there I first should say that I have no playlists or music on my computer.

I went into my sister's .local < share < rhythmbox folder and found playlists.xml. I copied it onto a pen drive. My plan is to be able to back up her playlists, not her music though.

To see if it worked I then copied playlists.exe into my computer and replace my original playlists.exe with my sisters. I was hoping that when I opened rhythmbox her playlists would show up. They didn't. I then copied her entire rhythmbox folder and replace mine with it. Again no success. I am wondering if something needs to be configured properly. Like the path, for example her home folder says alex and mine says matthew.

Any suggestions on how to back up her playlists so that if her computer ever dies we can still have all the crazy mixes she has made that are organized by her playlists?

I think for her playlists to work, you need her music. Also I would try ~/.rhythmbox instead of the /.local/share folder
