View Full Version : Remove virtual CD on Western digital passport

Complete newb, first post... please be gentle
Installed 10.04 a couple of days after it became available and am very impressed. Installed on a Fujitsu lifebook as dual boot with windows XP. I am considering dumping the windows partition all together and picked up a Western digital 500GB external HDD to facilitate switch over and to store music and movie files. Linux reads the drive as both an external hard drive and a virtual CD drive labeled WD Smartware. I am at wits end as to how to get rid of the virtual CD drive. I know I can just leave it and ignore, but it is killing me that I can't figure out how to remove. Any suggestions from the group?
Thanks in advance,
