Ok,

So before everyone starts complaining about this being asked about before, I know this. Complain all you want, but do it in another thread so you don't keep real posters who will actually help from being easy to find in this thread! LOL.

Now that that is out of the way, I am going to make it easy for those users who are searching for the way to do this...Just head on down to this thread:

http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=885252

My question is, is there a way to do this in gnome yet (I am running Gnome 2.30.0 in 10.04 Lucid) or with a third party program? Currently the only way I know to this is the way the users in the forum listed above did it, by disabling Nautilus background. Now this also disables your entire desktop including icons...Not a very convenient work-around if you ask me. I have seen threads like this from as far back as 2006, and they probably go back even further than that...

Is there still no way to do this through nautilus/gnome yet?!? I am considering using a third party script called wallpapoz found here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=69507

Which is just a script that determines which desktop you are using and updates the picture accordingly, but I don't think I am too keen on that idea either as it would have to be constantly running and seems like it would slow down the system needlessly, in which case I will just stick with the single image anyway.

So any new updates to these ideas since 2006? With Lucid being out now and all kinds of new features since 2006 I just thought maybe somebody would have looked at this by now.
