Hello all,

Heres the thing: I want to be able to delete attachments in messages that are in my evolution inbox but still keep the message. That way I have a record of things i get sent but no need to keep a bloated inbox of large files that were useful at the time but are now redundant.

I see no obvious way to do this at the moment (am i missing something). A thread started in 2007 and last updated in 2008 reveals the following:
http://people.debian.org.tw/~chihchun/2008/05/23/remove-attachments-evolution-plugin-002/

However this plugin not only no longer works, but doesn't appear to have made it in to the Evolution plugins set.

I know I can always delete the message, but this is for me a far more elegant approach.

Many thanks,
-M

Hi Milo,

I totally agree with you. That is why I submitted an idea on brainstorm. Please vote for it:

Thank a lot,

Grrrr....

also jut realised that isn't working any longer.

that is a "Killer Feature" for me.
But the evolution development is blind for that many years.

I found the issue (min one) in the source (menu handling has changed in evolution).
Not sure if my knowledge allow to fix it. Will give it a try.

Or much better the "CHECKER of Evolution" create a plugin.

I'm completely blind,

Mister Rex Tsai has already done the great job and created a package
for Mavarick.

Really thanks Rex...

Hi,
sounds hopefull. However the link to lauchpad returns Not allowed here even if I am logged in. For some reason excluded. Any clue/help?

Thanks a lot!

Deleting attachment is really a key feature.

Hi Filip,

you don't need a add-on any longer.
The feature is included up to evolution version 3.x without any additional installation.
