Hi, I'm not new to GNU/Linux, but I know there is something wrong with the way the Live Desktop CD is booting. It gives me this purple screen with a keyboard = man (in circle). Then it moves on to a black screen and stays there. I'm guess it's not noticing the monitor, because I keep seeing scan lines, as if it's an old school VHS tape. So, basically, it's not giving me boot options. I'm not seeing them, at least.

You might want to post the lspci output from the terminal from Hardy to get a look at the hardware especially the graphics card.

The Lucid Cd I am assuming should be checked with at the least the check the cd at the choice screen, this screen will be shown if you hold down the shift key when you boot it. Also a md5 sum check might be helpful.
