View Full Version : [ubuntu] 10.04 Upgrade - one boot then POOF!

CCC999
May 30th, 2010, 11:38 PM
Upgraded from Karmic dual booting with Vista - was using EasyBCD with Karmic. I did not see any mention of changing Grub during upgrade, and was able to boot to 10.04 on the first boot after upgrade. I did update the menu1st file EasyBCD uses reflecting 10.04 (for Vista). However, next boot and after would end in screens I did not understand when selecting Ubuntu. Used LiveCD attempted to install Grub2. Seems I still have parts of Grub mixed in. First HD is just used for storage. I see filesystem check error on boot, with 'S' and 'M' options. S does nothing M gives me a recovery prompt. Bootmasters - any suggestions would be most humbly welcome... PS - I can access all partitions and files from LiveCD, but can not boot to Ubuntu or Vista. Next step - try returning to Grub?? Thanks...
