For some reason after installing Ubuntu 10.04 my cheapo eMachines EL 1200-08w seemed quite sluggish and after checking my CPU speed it is showing as only 800MHz which is strange since this processor is supposed to run at 1.6GHz... I am new to Linux but have had a relatively easy time adjusting so far so even if this takes complicated instruction I should follow ok.
