Has someone created Android desktop version?

As Android is Linux and is open source I was just thinking if someone may have created a desktop/laptop version of it. Is there any desktop/laptop version of Android out there? Please inform if there is. And if there is no Android desktop version as yet could someone inform why it could not be created? :popcorn:

There are plenty of prototype nebooks around that use Android, so I guess that counts as a laptop version?
Google TV uses Android on whatever size TV you have in your living room...
