Sorry, if something similar has already been posted, but I couldn't find anything that was close enough to my symptoms to just go off of it, so I was hoping for some additional assistance.

Anyways, I had the previous version of Ubuntu and it was working fine. I'm guessing that the issue is related to Grub, but I'm not sure how to fix it. I tried to completely remove Grub, and then reinstall it, but I was getting the same exact problems.

Anyways, if I boot into Windows Vista which was working fine before I get an error message that says:

"PCI System Error on Bus/Device/Function 0600h
PCI System Error on Bus/Device/Function 0601h"

and then it either freezes there, or sometimes it'll reboot on its own.

If I try to go into the newest build of Ubuntu 10.04 I get a blinking cursor that turns into a black screen and nothing further.

When I boot into the second to newest build, I get the error messages:

"Mount/mounting none on /dev failed: no such device.

chroot: cannot execute /etc/apparmor/initramfs: No such file or directory"

but then it boots fine, and that's how I'm posting this.

I backed up my xorg.conf because I had issues when I upgraded to 9.04 (or whatever the version number is), and I restored back to the original xorg.conf that I was using and I'm getting the same issues.

Can anyone help with this?
