Hello,

I use a netbook with an external monitor plugged in and have just upgraded to lucid. Having set the monitor settings to "laptop off" and external monitor on all is fine - for a while. Then, with no warning, the laptop monitor comes back to life and the configuration changes at random. I have to go back through preferences etc. to restore what I had. I didn't have this problem before the upgrade.

Is this a known problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks

Chris

I'm having a similar problem but with a desktop (also in Lucid). I have dual monitors, connected with HDMI and VGA, configured to be side by side. Both are on switches. When the HDMI is monitor is unselected for some time period, the monitor configuration reverts to single-screen, combining all my windows on one monitor. I have to use the System->Preferences->Monitors dialog to get it back.

I hope this is a feature that can be turned off.

The motherboard is an Intel DG45ID with a built-in graphics adapter.
