Ubuntu screen freezes after upgrade to 10.04 LTS

Today I upgrade my Ubuntu 9.10 pc to the latest Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. The upgrade went perfectly with no errors. But when I login to my account Ubuntu loads but then the screen freezes and nohing happens. Then I am just left with a blank desktop with only the Ubuntu 10.04 background and no panels.:confused:

I'm having the same issue. System is an Alienware M9750.
