View Full Version : [ubuntu] Backup software to cd

Im using 9.10 karmic and i have managed to download and install many software packages,i was wondering if there is a way to backup all the software that i have installed so that i can install them again in case i install a fresh copy of 9.10 .or even install the software on a friends pc.? please help

Hi,
I suggest that you use application named " APTonCD ".
You can find it in " Ubuntu Software Center ".

All downloaded packages can be found in /var/cache/apt/packages, however APTonCD is a good solution for simply backing up your own package choices.
