DapperDrake (6.04; Planned for June 2006)

did you mean 06/**/06?

I thought you were talking about the number (6.06 rather than 6.04)

Just to clarify... The version number represents the date released (which is very useful in my book, rather than an arbitrary version number, you can actually tell how "old" the software is)

6.04
6 is for 2006
04 is for April (4th month)

Now dapper is 6.06 due to a delay of 6 weeks... Thus
6 is for 2006
06 is for June (6th month)

Y.MM (Year.Month)

So, will there be a witches' Sabbat held in celebration? I'll be there; my other broom is a Harley-Davidson.

Strangely enough, the ACTUAL wikipedia does cite 616:

As noted above, some early texts of the Book of Revelation use 616 instead, which would represent the alternative Hebrew spelling נרו קסר, Nrw Qsr (based on the Latin form "Nero Caesar")http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_the_Beast

Finally, Ubuntu is dropping their dreaded 6-month release scheme. Why don't I like this like averybody else? Notice how they had to use Knoppix for their Warty Live CD due to "time constraints". Now they will be able to release it when they are done from now on (hopefully). I couldn't take the way they had to cancel some of the anticipated things because of "time constraints".

So I guess we won't be saying goodbye to Warty (support ending April 20th if I havent screwed up my math) and hello to Dapper at the same time now. Ah well, whatever it takes for quality.
