Why not try the live version to see if all works. Or just install but let ubuntu install beside whatever you have on there,

Thank you guys!

@ Peter - I'm still in the process of downloading the OS. So, I will be able to run the live only after I burn it to a disk.

Will revert if I get stuck with the installation.

@Peter and Dino,

Thanks a ton for your help.
I'm thrilled to inform you that I have successfully installed Ubuntu 10.4 and it works so smooooth :).,

A quick question,

Which version of Adobe flash player should I download to play videos on Youtube???

i own a a satellite a135 and tried running 10.4 via live flash drive and it boots fine but i try to open an application and it freezes up on me so i guess my question is:Is there a minimum ram or cpu requirement for 10.4

My notebook is with a 2GB RAM.
I think it would work fine in you laptop though it has a 1GB RAM.

Assuming you installed 32-bit Ubuntu you should be able to install Flash from the normal Ubuntu software installers (e.g. apt-get, synaptic, etc). If it's 64-bit, then you'll probably have to manually download the 64-bit Beta from Adobe's web site.
