Hi, all!! As a complete novice to LINUX im asking for any assistance you can give me. I have an old Time 8375 Laptop that was running Windows XP, but slowly. I though it would be an excellent item for unbuntu!! I created a 9.10 Live CD and ran it from the CD, everything worked as it should. So then went for a complete install onto the Hard drive! It got as far as what country i was in, when answered it carried on installing files then just HUNG! Tried again, same outcome!! Completely wiped my hard drive, so it was blank, tried again and again same result, Hung after installing some files!! It isnt the Live CD as I used it to load 9.10 onto my other 2 laptops, successfully!! The laptop is a TIME 8375, AMD Athlon 1600+ and 40Gb ide Hard drive!! Anyone else had this problem?? Is there a work around?? HELP PLEASE as I love the speed of UNBUNTU, DOWN WITH MICROSOFT!!! Sads :confused::confused::confused:

maybe you might choose xubuntu or lubuntu (light distro) or netbook release
