www.redhat.com/

...also looks like

www.ibm.com
www.oracle.com

...etc. It appears that that layout is a trend.

Looks like the shipit free cd program is gone.

I don't like the 64 bit comment. "Not recommended for daily desktop usage"

A bug has been raised. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-website/+bug/585940

I really like the makeover. It looks way more professional and corporate, which it should be.

Does it say that...? :o
I run all my machines on 64 bit and I have yet to encounter any problem what so ever...

EDIT: a thread about it: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1494755

My first install with Wubi was 64bit so I've stuck with it on the regular installations . The comment makes it sound like 64bit will harm your computer. Wubi defaults to 64 bit unless you place the 32bit argument in the folder prior to download.
The site looks very nice.

Was the new Ubuntu website designed and developed on an Ubuntu machine with open source tools?

If so, Canonical should mention that and even perhaps show a quick 'making of' tutorial somewhere on the site. Might help get web designers (in particular) to consider making the switch.

I seriously doubt it. I have not yet met a serious professional graphic designer who uses solely FOSS tools.

"It's better because it's free" is a fun mantra but has no bearing on real life.

It's about damn time.

My only complaint is how bad the white text looks on the orange navbar at the top of the screen. It's probably the black shadow that's ruining it.
